RGC Gives Back!
At the 1Q Game Day in February, RGC gamers donated 32 lbs. of food and a monetary donation to Channel One Food Bank and Food Shelf.
Channel One is a local food shelf and regional food bank that serves Southeast Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Channel One is a member of Feeding America, Hunger Solutions Minnesota, and a community partner of the United Way of Olmsted County.
Channel One is only the lastest recipient of charitable efforts by the RGC. Since its formation by Jeff and others, "giving through gaming" has been an objective of the RGC. Donations collected at RGC game days and the Gamers Reunion have resulted in nearly $1500 in goods and cash going to local charities such as Toys for Tots and the Rochester Boys and Girls Club.
Winston Churchill said that we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. The RGC Board of Directors hopes to continue to enable the RGC to merge the fun of gaming with the satisfaction that comes from supporting local charities and reaching out to our community. Our next opportunity for giving will be at the RGC 2Q Game Day and Picnic on June 13, when we once again will be collecting for Channel One. See you there!
