Siddy's Corner: Behold the "Awesome" that is First Quarter Games Day

The First Quarter Games Day for 2009 was a wonderful success. Lots of people playing and lots of games being played. The very definition of an "awesome games day".

For those of you who could join us, RGC hopes you had a great time. For those of you who did not, there is good news! This is a "quarterly" event, meaning it happens four times a year. Odds are your schedule will mesh with ours one of these days. When that day comes, I'll be the first to welcome you and play a game or two..possibly five.

Lots of different games played, from board to miniature and from role playing to pizza eating contests. Every game type you can imagine was either scheduled to be played or was available for play at the open tables.

Best of all, there was a great mix of ages and people. The young and young at heart played together in perfect harmony that can only be generated via a game or nuclear energy. The experienced "pro" and the wet behind the ears "how-do-I-roll-dice" newcomer all had a chance to learn a new game and play a familiar classic.

Take a moment to walk down Memory Lane and view the posted photos from the event. Note that if you were caught on camera this does not count as your "15 minutes of fame".

Until next time, friends...
