Once again the Rochester Gamers Community has come through with a show of generosity and support for a local charity. This time, the recipient was the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, whose mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
At the RGC 4th Quarter Game Day on November 14, members and other attendees donated nearly 50 new toys to the Toys for Tots Foundation!
At the recommendation of Mr. Todd Eggler, the Local Toys for Tots Coordinator, donations focused on toys for infants and teens, which he says are always in short supply. Being gamers, many of the donations were board and card games! These were delivered to the collection point at Stifel Nicolaus off of 37th St in early December.
Thanks very much to all who contributed to this worthy charity just in time for the holiday season!
